Thanks to
everyone for making the 2009 Model Railroad Open Houses a
success. Many layout owners reported excellent attendance
and lot's of new faces.
In 2009, layouts were grouped together on
common dates to draw larger crowds - a great success. With
that in mind, we encourage layout owners to contact others near them to try and coordinate common dates and
times this year. We would like
to remind folks that we are still looking for a few local
coordinators to assist us this year. We are looking for
coordinators for Lower Delaware/Eastern Shore MD, Northern
Delaware (New Castle County), Eastern PA, and Central PA. All
that is required is to proactively call the layout owners in
your area and gather dates. Then report that data back to us
in a spreadsheet which we provide. Please let
Bruce know if
you are interested.
We will start our process for the 2010 open house schedule
on August 15th.
As in previous years we ask that 2010 dates be submitted to
Bruce Friedman
from August 15th to September 15th. (Unless we have a local
coordinator in your area)
New layout people should contact
Bruce directly
for instructions and information. As always, we prefer that
all layout owners proactively send their open house info in
during our timeframe. We hold to our deadlines. We can't
promise we will call you if we do not hear from you.
Thanks to all who donated so generously in 2009 towards the
costs of maintaining this site.
Be safe and support our local hobby shops and do some model
railroading!

NOTE: If you are hosting an
open house and have a picture
of your layout that you would like featured in the rotating pictures
at the top of each page, please email it to Karen at
kdarling@comcast.net. Each picture must be at least 500 x
200 pixels I'd prefer you send the full size image. Keep
in mind that I need to use a portion of the picture that will show
your trains and/or layout in the 500 x 200 pixel area. Currently
most of the pictures are of garden
layouts, we'd like some of other scales. I'll let you know if
it is accepted. Due to the large number of folks
participating, only one picture from each person will be used.
It is possible that due to content and/or layout of the scene, it
might not be suitable.
Thanks to those who donated to the
cost of running the site!
